Hey
Is there any value in primed brass?
Federal 215
7 mm RM once fired
Resized,trimmed,chamfered

Buying or selling primed brass could be a crap shoot. Primed brass has been sized and who knows if it has been sized correctly or will fit your rifle chamber?

IF the cases don't fit your rifle then you have to deprime, size and re-prime ... which is all a PIA.

7mm Rem Mag, once fired, resized etc, primed will have different values, depending on whose logo is on the headstamp.

I sold a 100ct bag of Remington, 7mm Rem Mag cases, unprimed, sized, dedapped, for $65. In your case add whatever the primers are going for now.

Some folks don't like certain brands of brass cases. Some don't care one way or the other.

I'm in the latter group.

You can resize them without decapping, just pull the decapping rod/pin from the sizing die.

Primed brass is of no additional value... I would be punching the primers before loading anyway... I am not wasting my bullets, powder, money and time with unknown components.

Wise advice.
When one thinks what a yearly hunting trip is worth, why pinch dimes on measly primed brass?
That's like sticking two year old fuel in your outboard motor tank and going fishing.

Brand new federal primers, just done a few months.
What problems do you see ?

If the primers are worth something sitting in a box, they're worth something sitting in a piece of brass, no matter what anyone says. Personally though, I'd simply deprime the brass and use the primers myself rather than selling as primed.

You read it on the internet, so it must be true?
We’re talking 400 primers $40 value.
If I was a scammer I think I’d set the bar much higher…
Also, my trader rating should count for something, no?

Your first post doesn’t mention that you own the stuff.
Just a general question.
Hence the general reply.

The problem I see is that "I" didn't load them...

Agreed.

How do I know that the primers were properly/fully seated? Or that they weren't contaminated? Or that it wasn't a bad/poorly performing batch? Picky? Yes. Anal? Probably, but I like to error on the side of caution. With that said, your rating DOES speak volumes, but I'm still the kind of person that likes to handle the entire process myself.

Some folks are just paranoid about everything to do with reloading.

If I know an individual, I will usually be OK with their reloads. Not so much for a stranger.

In the case of the OP, he stated he prepped and primed the cases a few months ago. His price is in line. One look at the cases will tell you whether he knows what he's doing or not.

Reseat the primers if you're concerned. It's not a big deal.

If you're worried that he's used Standard Large Rifle primers instead of Magnum primers as he states, fine, don't buy them. Your loss.

OP, put them up for sale as you have them.

You can't please everyone.

You don't have to deprime when you size. Just remove the pin from your die.

I'd be more concerned about flakes of tumbler media in there if that brass has been cleaned - otherwise, a person should be able to use it no problem.

Personally, I'd reprime - not worth the risk of misfires for me, but others I'm sure would be happy to save the $$.
