Primer choice for match ammo

I have searched for primer reviews and found a few good ones, but they tend to not name names.

I shoot Lapua GB491 factory loads now in .308. I am not sure who's primer they use.

I am just starting to reload and need some primer help.
My goal of course is overall round consistancy.

My research shows the Federal 215 mag large primer as my best choice.

(Lapua brass will be used)

Thanks for any help

Mark

I'd try my loads with Federal match or CCI benchrest primers and see what works best. The 308 is very efficient so there is probably no need to use a magnum primer.

I have loaded and tested a lot of 308 match ammo. I have used Fed210M and CCI BR2 and found they work just fine.

One time we had to load 40,000 rounds for a customer and primers were hard to come by, so we used Win LR, and the SD was about the same, although velocity was about 25fps higher.

Powder selection is the bigger deal. If you are loading the 155, i suggest you try N140 or N150. Single digit SDs are the rule.
