Back when I started reloading I was cautioned against "handling" primers as the oil on your skin could contaminate/ruin primers. What did I know? and didn't want to hear "click" when hunting. Years later I find out (accurate reloading site) that now primers have a protective coating so no worries about handling them. I wish I could link to Saeed's post on his experiments because it is interesting how much primers will withstand.
