I went to the Penticton gun show today and picked up a case(5000) small pistol primers for $190.00 all in. that is $3.80/100! I was at Grouse river outfitters last week and they wanted $55 and change for 1000. Thank goodness I waited!!!

Yep, supply is catching up and prices are definitely coming down. I was speaking with a couple of the larger suppliers recently and some stock is available in large quantities, at very reasonable quantity prices. (SP for less than $30/k)

I actually saw primers at a gun store in Michigan the other day....as well as Buffalo gun center in NY a couple weeks ago.

Things seems to be recovering.

I just paid 39.99 for 1k wlr primers.....still a little high........should be around 35$ at the very least. With the current exchange any new orders brought in by distributors will be better priced.

Yep,
I heard the ATF are re distributing the primers they confiscated from the Houtari militia. :D

As that Orc in Lord of the rings said, "Meats back on the table boys!"

I just did the math... the g.r. primers were $4.95+tx(12%) that is $277.20/5000
the ones at the gun show were $190.00 all in. That is a savings of $87.20

I bought some primers at Wholesale Sports in Calgary on the Easter weekend and they would only let me buy 1000 large pistol primers, as I am paying for them one of the other village idiots that works there says "we have pistol primers stacked to the ceiling back there", go figure.

Yup! bought a case (5000) as well at the Penticton Gun Show!

Primer famine

I wonder if anyone learned their lesson from the latest primer shortage. Or will they be caught with their pants down once again. I;am still loading out of cases of primers i bought in 1991. They were $15.00 per thousand for LRM's

I'm sitting on about a 10 year supply. Who cares. Once things return to normal...whatever that is.....I'll start buying again. The last batch I bought were $28.00/1000. If things get back down around $30.00/1000 I'll buy another 25k and be done with it once and for all.
$40+ for 1000 primers is nuts. They're only primers for God's sake !!!

Apparently the stores with the ultra high prices that can't move inventory don't think it is over. But many of the more reasonable shops have had decent stock the last few months.
