Again I am new to reloading.

I switched my Dilion over to 40sw this week.
Everything works great.
Once in a while I will forget to push the handle far enough up to seat the primer. Still getting use to it.
And the bullet will get finished and dropped in my bin.
My question is:
Can I put it back in the press and finish seating the primer with out taking the bullet apart first?
Or do I have to pull it apart and then reseat the primer?

Finally getting the hang of this reloading thing.

Thanks.

I will not tell you what to do here BUT I have put an occasional complete one back in the press to carefully seat a primer a little deeper.

Personally, I advise against it. You could do it 1,000 or 1,000,000 times with no issue, it only needs to go off once to ruin your day. For either the 20 cents in components you would be throwing out or the 30 seconds to pull it that's a better bet.

I have detonated a primer in my Camdex before and that almost required a change of pants. I would hesitate to guess how much physical damage a loaded round would do.

Again, just my advice, take it for what it is worth..... which is nothing.

Seat the primer. Do you have a Lee handprimer? That would be the easier way to do it.

This is really good advice.
Quick, easy and when you practice 'nuff, you can feel the weight of yer thumb
to know you've done the task.
Visually inspect the primer and if not fully seated, back in the jig and a bit more thumb weight.
Shazzzzzzzzzzzam, perfecto.

the lee hand prime is the way to go this has happened to me many times over the yearsm- what people FAIL to realize that it takes a STRONG SHARP BLOW to DETONATE a primer in most cases unless you're dealing with a primer crimp- they hae this idea that it's like a time bomb- if you understand the way a primer operates, you realize there's very little danger involved
