Could be several things. Oversized firing pin hole, weak firing pin, excessive pressure (though that doesn’t appear to be the case) etc.

You also look like you might be getting close to case head separation.

I concur with the above. Had the same issue with my last rifle. Manufacturer said pin and associated hole was within spec. I never blew any out, but it was certainly annoying.

i thoought maybe RP primers were soft? an that i could change, but its with the powder thats accurate lower in charge in data books , but users at home are putting alot more powder in to get the magic 3 numbers, which im on the fence but wanted to ask what this may of indicated.
i will be tryin RE25 this weekend and will maybe revisit the ADI powder with a stoke up down the track."

i had loaded an shot up to 65.5gr of said powder with no real pressure signs.

My Savage in 338LM did this right from the start , to the point on warmer, not dangerous loads , the primer won't allow the case to enter the shell holder and I'm still here shooting that same load.

Would be less with a CCI primer also I bet with their harder cups.

IMHO,

Rem. 700.

Stickier/different extraction is first sign....

Look for "circular" imprint from ejector.

As also mentioned the radius of the primer is still round....


Looks safe to me.

Best way to also confirm is primer pocket test.

il keep an eye out on this re25 and hornady brass today, same primers..

Primer metal will flow around the firing pin into it's exit hole due to it's larger diameter. It's nothing serious, however if you don't like it, a gunsmith can bush the head of the bolt. My Winchester Model 70 does the same thing.
