I have some PMC 308 brass that i will reload.
it has a crimped primer.

what are my options for swaging the primer pocket?
i know about the dillon swager, but what other options are out there? is there something that i could use on a single stage press that allows me to swage the primer pocket? or any other ways of doing it?

honestly it's not swaging.... and i don't really know if it's "recommended" but i use an rcbs deburring tool to cut the primer crimps out. works super fast and leave a nice little bevel. i mount it in my drill and go to town. its a bit weird to chuck up in a drill but if u try u'll figure it out.

I took my machinist counter sink and chucked it in my drill press and voila!
Case's done in 5-7 second's each.
I had a couple 1 gallon pail's of 9mm to do.

This. I used to use the RCBS deburring tool also, the countersink in a much better tool for the job, IMHO.

+1 for the Dillon. Mount it to a piece of plywood, clamp plywood to coffee table in front of TV with Apocalypse Now on. Open beer, punch out primers and by the end of the movie you will have 4000 ready to load cases, and the motivation to load them.

***Other movies may be less effective***

Is this swaging or decrimping? Gotta like Spyderfire1's response. D

Don'tk now cost of Dillon, but good tools have always been the wise choice in my opinion.

Peter

My Dillon Swager cost $100. Well worth the money, you get both small and large pins to do .223 military and the 308 stuff you have there. You can order right from dillon, but there are sponsors of this forum who sell these all well I'm sure.
