Was just in my local sports shop, looking for primers (lg. Pistol) last time I was in they had none, and nbow they had cci and federal, but at $60 per 1k. Sfrc has them for 32 bucks per k plus shipping.I know it's available locally, but at very nearly double it seems like gouging.I willingly pay$40 or maybe$ 45 per k to keep a local store going. I pointed out to the guy behind the counter, but as he was an employee has no say on pricing.I think the most powerful statement that one can make as a consumer is to be seen and heard taking business elsewhere.you guys getting gouged for components more than usual out there? Or am I just crazy to expect reasonable prices?I have spent a lot of scratch at this establishment over the years, and I just am not seeing the benefit to paying 40 to 50 percent more on a given item just because they are local.

Local shop is $60 per 1k as well, I've asked to barter and was told take it or leave it, so I left it. I buy in bulk at gunshows or online. Gunshows are usually cheapest as there is no shipping.

your local businesses deserve to go out of business with that sort of mark-up. The 'big names' are getting more stock in, and every time it arrives, the price is a little lower; it's been tapering off for the past year or so. $30 to $40/k is about average there. The smaller shops around town are about $45

Local club (CRAFM) had a special during a lvl III match. $150 for 5000 Federal primers. Local gun store have CCI for around the same prime + a 10% discount if you buy 3000 and more. LeBaron have Winchester for $28 per 1000.

$60 for 1000 is outrageous!

$35/1000 winchester lg pistol primers from lebaron

I did pay $49/1000 for large rifle though cci br2 but as others have said $60 is bit much.

As others have stated you could buy bulk with friends to cut down on shipping, try some of the site sponsors.

Thanks for the price checks and opinions fellas! I'm just starting to get into pistol shooting, so a bulk of primers ordered from somewhere with decent prices is the thing to do.Probably get 10 or 15k to make it worthwhile to pay the hazmat fees.Just hate being gouged.

They charged me 43.50$ for 1000 Winchester SPPs at wholesale the other day.
Not happy about the price but I'd run out so couldn't wait a week for more from SFRC.
Not to mention I'd have to put in a substantial order to make shipping worthwhile.

Yeah 60 bucks for 1k is way too much. I would tell them how much they are going and show them that you can have them delivered to your house, all-in for much less. Then I would never give them my business again.
