I am currently loading .45ACP .45Colt and 30-30,for the .45ACP I am using the small primers (CCI#500) for .45 Colt the large primers (CCI#300) and for the 30-30 Large Rifle Primers (CCI#200). The measurements of the #300 and #200 primers are the same for diameter but the #200's are about .006" longer. Are Rifle Primers a lot hotter than Pistol Primers or can they be interchanged?
What I want to find out is if one primer will work in all three cartridges ie; all large?
My loads for all of these cartridges are well below the maximum but I am slowly bringing them up to factory levels.
Any advice would be appreciated.

you could get large primer 45 acp brass and use the same primer in both 45's pistol of course, but stick to large rifle primers in the 30-30.

Its funny that all three cartridges you mentioned come in both rifles and pistols, but that has no bearing on what primer the case was designed for............as outlined in your reloading manual...........

The primer pocket in the Colt likely won't allow you to set a rifle primer in it. You can use regular 45ACP brass and use the same primer in 45 ACP and 45 Colt though
