Looking for ideas, new to reloading and using a progressive press, 45acp, I find that 1 in 50 the primers are upside down, at first I figured I put it in the dispenser tube that way but I am pretty sure I did not, I have the occasional 1 in 100 that drops off the plunger so got a few without primers but what causes them to be upside down?

It is relatively simple to go in from the mouth of the casing and pop it out, just be sure to give it a slow and gently-increasing push as opposed to a smashing impact motion.

press is Hornady progressive, not the quick load dies, have to check on the primers, I do know the cartridge is almost touching the primer before it rotates in place, tried adjusting the set screws on the cam but did not change it noticeably, does not seem to matter if the press is cycled slowly or quickly

the other issue popping it out is until the round is crimped there is no way to see if primer is correct so have to get a bullet puller

I believe your talking about the projector? if so.... there is a "pointy" peace that actuates the primer arm..... you can reshape that piece so the arm actuates slower and stops flipping them over....

where are you located?

located in Saskatoon, yes I noticed the ramp on the plate that moves the arm that holds primer does move quickly, I will taper it more at a angle and see how it goes
