Primers for reloading 44 rem mag for rifle/revolver

Just loaded a hundred 44 Rem Mag with a 240 gr. SWC cast bullet over 22 gr of H110 and mistakenly used a CCI large rifle primer instead of a CCI-350 primer. (opps).
Would this be safe to shoot out of a S&W 29-2 or a Ruger Black Hawk or should I feed them through a rifle? Would they be OK in a rifle.. or should I pull them and start over?

Its impossible to say.. I did the same with only 8.5gr unique and they for sure had higher pressure.

I load up h110 at 28gr with 200gr projectiles so I think you should be pull the bullets. Experiment carefully.

Large pistol primers have a cup thickness of .020 and large rifle primers have a cup thickness of .027.

I would assume a rifle primer has more than enough horsepower to light off the H110, "BUT" the problem is does your revolver hammer spring have enough force to set off the primer with its thicker cup.

I seem to recall trying to seat a large rifle primer into a 44 Mag case. It stuck out a couple of thou above the base of the case. I never tried chambering the test case to see if the revolver would rotate properly.

I shoot 240gn Noslers from 23.6 gn H110 and use CCI LG Rifle primers exclusively. No issues to date. Seating is slightly taller than the 350's but still less than flush.

I haven't found a LP primer cartridge yet that would accept a LR without binding the cylinder. Semi-autos don't have enough power to produce ignition. I haven't used every primer of course but since they are pretty well standard...

As expressed above, they might be protruding, ...etc about hammer strength. The load would be mild otherwise.

What kind of press are you using? Are your bullets' nose fairly straight?
Some single stages will allow you to grab the bullets from the top and pull the brass down (protect the press so as not to scratch it). Or simply get a piece of steel tube to use within the frame (again, protect the press).
