So .... What is the going rate for Federal small pistol primers these days ....... if they can be found.

WOW!!! I had no idea! That really is not good!

And its only getting worse with CCI and Fed no longer selling primers to the public for all of 2022. I wouldn't be surprised to see $300-400 a brick mid 2023. Some of us remember this in the past and learnt from it. New reloaders are FKed unless they have large amounts of disposable income.

Were did you get that CCI and FED were not selling to the public in 2022 ? One dealer received palets and I mean palets of Federal small pistol in Fev- March priced at $103 a brick, a bunch of CCI small rifle at the same price, same time, and lately another bunch of CCI small rifle. Purchased CCI small rifle magnum (450) 5000 of them in July.
Got CCI BR 4 in May from another dealer but he was selling $188 a brick.

They are available but demand is high in US and Canada for all primer brand and other components. Price of factory ammo seem to get shooters to migrate to reloading more and more.

I call you statement unfounded and false.

I'm sitting on an unopened case of 5000 federal 100 small pistol primers. Thinking of selling ..... maybe.

Once again Janeau doesn’t know what he’s talking about:

100% guaranteed those primers that arrived earlier in the year had been ordered last year or even earlier before this announcement.

There are still primers coming in, just cause they aren’t listed on web sites or in plain view doesn’t tell the story. If you aren’t a local with a long history at the store it’s “ no primers for you” same with powder.

I know plenty of guys in Winnipeg that will buy them, I may even take a couple bricks! I really shouldn’t have sold all of mine even though I rarely shoot pistol anymore, certainly not competition like I used to (25K a year)

Empty shelves in every shop across Canada and the USA say otherwise. Its all going to ammo manufacturers, non for reloaders.

They are coming in. Federal and CCI are sold to the public. This is a BS statement - False in every way.
They are scarce because of high demand but they are coming in. Just saw 10 case of Federal just behind the counter of a dealer while picking up my order today. Same last week for CCI but about 100 cases of small rifle.

So when you don’t know what you are talking about, you refrain of making up statement like that.

Exactly. Most shop do not list them online.
Price are high and there is always a complainer to #### on the dealer doorstep about it.

Could have got $150 easy, probably $200, maybe $250.

For rifle primers yes, there are plenty of small pistol primers (not federal) available in my area for under $100 and most pistol shooters will substitute anything that goes bang instead of pay more because it’s not as temperamental as rifle loads. $120-$130 might be the top end and you are going to do a whole lot of meetups.
