Primers

I never have any problem getting Winchester primers, I usually have a little difficulty getting Fed 210 Match, but always end up with some. I can never find CCI 450 SR primers, and I have completely stopped trying to find CCI 200 #34.

With the war going on. For some reason we are not that high on the priority list. Some what difficult finding match primers here in the peg.

Simillar but different..I can always find CCI and have most loads switched over to them because of that fact..Winchester large rifle primers are touch and go depending on the store...Federal 210 and 215 are darn near impossible to find..

Just ordered CCI 450 SR from Wholesale Sports (no indication they weren't in stock at least but time will tell :-/ ) Is #34 military?

Seems to be an issue Stateside too. Lots of questions about the primer shortage on U.S. forums. Everybody is blaming the war.

Hey thanks for the tip on the CCI 450's. I don't think the CCI # 34's are military, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but they have a thicker cup like a military primer.

The reason I wondered about the #34 is the description in the following chart (source of the chart is in the image). Wholesale advertises a CCI LR Nato #34 on their site marked as "Mfr. #2" (HOME > HUNTING > RELOADING > RELOADING COMPONENTS > CCI > MILITARY > MILITARY)

I've read what a few others have said about this primer but have no personal experience.

All I know is that when I saw 3 boxes of Federal 210M Match primers at the gun show today I swiped them all as fast as I could.

Re #34 primers

This is the reply I got from the Dist. here in western Canada concerning these military type primers.William, Currently the United States Dept of State will not issue export permits for M34 primers. I do not know a dealer anyway in Canada that has any in stock. Sorry Paul

Subject: CCI no m34 and m41 military primers

Mr Simms. I would like to reload for my M1 Garand and it has been pointed out to me that with regular primers there is increased danger of slam fires. and that it is better to use the m34 primers as a safety step. What I would like to know is can you point me to a dealer in Alberta that handles these primers?
In the Edmonton or northern Alberta Areas. To be quite frank its getting harder and harder to find anyone handling any reloading components out side the major centers. thanks for your time

With wholesale it usually takes 2 weeks for me to recieve the notice saying my item is back-ordered and it will be 2 months before I get it.

With your words ringing in my ears I called Wholesale Calgary today to "confirm shipping" and hopefully expedite the order. Sure enough later in the day a nice girl with a nasty cold called me back to report a whole lot of the stuff on my order wasn't in stock. To make a long story short, rather than wait the "7 to 10 days for them to check other stores" I asked her to send whatever they had from the list and then called Higginson's for some WSP and WSR (Higginson's had no CCI of any kind today) as well as 8 lbs of H335 and 200 VMax 60's so there'll be *something* in the mail.
