Hey all.

Gonna be reloading with a single stage press.

My question is about inserting primers into rifle cases.

What is the best (or at least good) way of doing this?

I have been looking at an RCBS hand priming tool. Should I get a die (if there is one availble....)

What do you guys recommend? Stay away from?

Lee handprimer definitely. It lets you feel the insertion or misalignment of the primer, the press does not. lets you sit and watch tv or whatever, and you are not relegated to a reloading bench.

I use the Lee Auto Prime II. If I use the hand prime too much my hands swell up. Caused from 30 years of vibration, grinding out other peoples broken welds.

I like to prime on the press as i can do two steps at once, bell case mouths on the upstroke, prime on the down stroke, with my Rockchucker, been savings steps like this for 40 years.

with the lee hand prime, sometimes the primer dosen't seat easily and requires some force to seat.if it dosen't seat right(flush),then you can't take the primed case out of the shell holder...
