These guns are not milsurp but are government issue and I think you guys will like them. Sorry for the flashes but it was glass cases in a dark room.
Prince Albert is a small city (30 000) with 7 jails including a federal Pen.
One of the best displays is the wall of prison shanks but I put those pics over at the Edged weapons forum.

Firearms and cuffs

Tommy gun ,no Cutts compensator

Note the same horrible strapping as the other museum

Some police hideout guns

Prisoner control devices, note the sap.

Now these are not firearms but are pretty darn cool. More cuffs and other devices that seem almost medieval.

This thing is a whipping table and I thought it must be from the 17th or 18th century. It was actually used until the mid 1960's. If you start to feel bad refer back to the wall of shanks.

Old RCMP gear, give me this rifle case and one of the old Winchesters from the other museum and strap it to my Honda and I would be perfect.

Beautiful watchmans clock and a real ball and chain. Flavour Flav would love this.

Better than goretex

I hope you guys enjoy my photos. I am sorry about the poor quality. I am going to join the local historical society and see if I can't do something about getting these amazing artifacts some better care.

Ahhhhh, the good old days!

WHY do these museums use metal strapping? It looks horrible and probably isn't great from a conservation point of view unless they keep a close eye on any corrosion.

I think most of the strapping was put up in the early 70's and very little has been done since then. The Prince Albert city council is awful when it comes to taking care of the historical items they have been entrusted with. They are much more concerned with lining their and their buddys pockets. PA has one of the worst most corrupt city councils in Canada and has for almost 100 years.

One of the girls at the museum mentioned that the vacuum they use at the Deifinbaker house looks so old that they think Missus Diefenbaker used it.

That's awful, although the same happens everywhere it seems. Only the big institutions get any money, most other small museums are left year to year never knowing if they will have enough to stay open. Makes it difficult to aquire pieces that are of historical importance unless they are donated.

Speak your mind. Don't hold back. Get it off your chest. It's not good to keep bottled up. ;)

I am not sure the address but it is one the corner of Marquis and 2nd ave at the tourist info if you are trying to find it, if you want to send a letter I will find out?

PA city council is actually famous for corruption. We have half a hydro electric damm because they stole all the money for it. It is called Le cole falls but it is more like Le cole cement dock because it only goes a third of the way across
the river.
