Prince George Qualifier Matchs May 19-20

Controversy, what controversy?
Are you referring to the dismantled Texas Star that was laying in a tragic heap in front of the target shed or are we already on to an even newer controversy?

Fun match but kinda left me wondering if IPSC had also decided that movers of any sort were too "carnival".

well yeah the poor Texas Star bothered me, looking at it laying there, all alone was disturbing. but no, I am refering to Clint getting bumped to Open. It seems like every match there has to be something at it to annoy people lately. I wish we could just have a match where everyone had fun and there was no strife.
this is not the MD fault of course, Marlin did a great job IMHO. Good to see more guys stepping up and running matches. It's always amazed me that in our province we have so few matches every year.

I didn't hear any of the particulars of the trigger pull test. my guess is that they tried more than once and it still didn't make the cut. If anybody would know the proper procedure for testing trigger pull it would be Clint so I expect that it would have been done properly at least once and still failed. On the bright side, at least his ammo made minor!

Lot's of respect from me for what the guy's in Prince George are doing, considering how relatively new they are to the game they are really putting their shoulders into it for the members of IPSC BC.

Thanks to everyone that contributed to making this match a great time!

My first time to PG and I really enjoyed the course of fire and meeting some new folks.

Cheers to some fine shooting and 'sporty' weather!

I'm not sure what the controversy would be either. Clint broke a spring last week, got a replacement and didn't test it out. Boo hoo. So sad, too bad. Congrats on finishing 4th in Open. :p

I'm guessing that he is probably riding the stage win in open at least as hard as he would have ridden a match win in production!

this is the reason that chrono is important in a qualifier a competitor may go to several matches with there equipment not complying to the rules for the division that they are in and don't no it till they finely go to a match that has a chrono station set up. Also having a calibration gun with the ammunition plus or mines 5% of the 125 power factor to calibrate steel is very important as well. As far as Clints trigger test the RO's that tested his gun did it as per the rules and any other test done after the first three were not valid just done for our own curiosity.

I would like to thank every one who came to the match and hope that they enjoyed it as I did. I also like to thank the PG guys for all there hard work and also the people from out of town that helped set up as well.

Hey Folks,

First off i would like to say Damn Excellent matches in PG ... Loved the stages on Saturday ... The ramps rocked... My hat is off to Gunnar and Marlin for putting together two excellent matches... !!!

Second... For the record ... I didn't feel that my Glock not passing the trigger pull test was a controversy in any way shape or form. I want to thank Gunnar especially for going the extra mile to help me test the trigger and make sure that the test was done right each and every time. I am not pissed off nor do I feel picked on in any way. My trigger didn't make the grade.. and I was bumped to open... I never filed an arbitration nor did i complain or argue any farther than the RM. Any competitor would want to make sure that the rules were followed to the letter... That’s all I did .. I was treated MORE than fair. Chris is right Boo Hoo for me ...
Long story short, I don’t want anyone to feel that there was any controversy in PG... Everything was perfect ... except maybe for the lightning and hail ... ;)

I have found out what the problem was with the trigger. It was not the trigger return spring like i first thought, turns out it was the Firing Pin spring, it had snapped almost in two. True its Glock name the gun functioned flawlessly even with a broken spring. It just caused the trigger to decrease in weight. I tested it when I got it home with a digital trigger gauge and found it to weigh in at 4 pounds, 4 Oz. So like I said everything was as it should have been in PG. I have hence replaced the spring and now have a heavy 5 pounds 9 Oz trigger pull ...

Once again ... Thanks to everyone in PG for a great weekend...

Thanks for clearing up the issue to a non-issue. I have worked with Clint in our qualifiers, and, he is more than fair as a CRO. I would not have expected any less.

Kudos !

thanks for the reply Clint, I didn't have a chance to talk to you after we were done shooting. I didn't mean to imply any wrong doing or anything like that on your part, or Gunnars either. But man did people ever start yapping after you got bumped, that's what I meant by controversy.
