Prisms out of line?

I rediscovered and fell in love with my 28 year-old Bushnell Ensign 7 x 35 binoculars for their early morning capabilities this season, then dropped them on a rock and now they see double.

Who fixes binoculars?

Anyone in Vancouver?

It's probably not the prisms that are out of line, but the barrels themselves. The alignment of the barrels is called "collimation" IIRC, and they can be re-collimated. I had this done on an old pair of fairly cheap binoculars a few years ago by a local camera repair facility, and it seemed to work quite well. The repair guy warned me that they were liable to get out of whack again quite easily, but they seemed to hold their alignment well. I'd call around to a few local businesses if I were you.

It could very well be the prisms that are out of line. I also had an old pair of Bushnell 7x35 binos that would suffer from double vision. I would unscrew the objective lense barrels and loosten the clamp with the two screws on it holding each prism in place and reset the prisms in place by trial and error until I got them reasonably good.:)
