Pristine Action - Canadian Made

I still have some Matrix VLD Bullets that were made in B.C. when they were still around.. performed similar to berger VLD's in the rifle I shot them in. I thought I read that J4 jackets became itar controlled so that probably spelled the end. Chinchaga (sp?) bullets are also made in Canada.. not sure if they're still around.. their facebook page is still up.

Stinger Ballistics bullets are made in Canada.

J4 jackets can still be got but they have to come through an exporter/importer if I remember right. The biggest demise of a couple of the bullet makers from what I heard was the new regulations that made it cost prohibitive to sell to the Americans which was their bigger market.

Cam Pro makes plated and FMJ bullets in Canada, right?
Not exactly 'on topic'.

While I'm most appreciative to CamPro and what they offer to canadian customers, even their top-tier jacketed bullets are what I would consider "blaster ammo".
I shoot a ton of their product in various calibers both pistol and rifle and never thought I'd see them mentioned in the target and precision sub forum lol.

Cadex are as well, and they have a 60 deg bolt. We have a few in Canada now, and some great barrel manufacturers as well as stocks. All we need now is someone to make primers, and bullets in Canada. I think IMR powders are Canadian as well.

Cadex also makes actions with 50 deg bolt. They work quite well!

Time will tell. Nice is made here.

90 bolt throw? I guess

Weird to have a 2-row, 3-lug-per-row design with a 90 degree bolt throw. For something claiming to take inspiration from the Mark V (54 degree bolt throw) that's quite a lot.

Otherwise, I think I would be interested in it for a hunting rifle. I'd prefer an integral recoil lug for a precision gun.

Bang on. As Canadians we complain about not being able to get product in Canada. If we could all be on similar pages, we may be able to keep these bullet manufacturers in Business. Everyone wants something different. What Stinger is putting out is for a small BR market up here in Canada. I am sure just that alone can keep him going more than he may want.

People make their own gas checks, making bullet jackets should be some what similar?

Some people make jackets out of 22lr cases and see some made out of other cases as well. Maybe good for plinking but wouldn't think overly precise.

There is a guy over on castboolits making jackets from copper sheets not sure how that is going as he is in the testing stage.

Still need lead wire or make some sort of lead wire extruder.

I tried that with the Corbin I had. It worked ok, but I wouldnt try them at a BR match. You used to be able to buy jacket material in long curled tubes, in various thicknesses. Same with core wire. Havent seen any north of the border for quite a while though. - dan
