hey, well i bought a gun from another member, i did my part of the transfer over the phone today...

i was wondering how long does it usually take?

the seller is from ontario, and im from BC...

i also ordered a gun from SFRC last thursday and for some reason the CFO said they had the wrong address even thou it was the correct one, so i had to call in to them..

how long do you guys think that will take? as SFRC is from ontario as well...

i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to hit the range with my own guns!

that and I am going to go buy 500 rounds of 45 ACP tomorrow, and probably 1000+ of 22 haha

The length of time for the transfer depends on when the seller calls the CFC and does his part to transfer. If you bought the gun face to face and the office is open it could take as short as hte duration of the call.
As for the SFRC one, well ####e happens and it was likely a clerical error and the item would be shipped asap....
I am not speaking for or on behalf of SFRC, but I have had guns go for review and it was done in less than 24 hours,

Are these your first transfers ?
Are they restricted ?
If you answered yes to either of these questions don't expect to heading to the range for a wile

i'm from alberta and my tranfer on a private seller from montreal took less than a day while the transfer of the firearm that i bought from a dealer took 3 working days. so yah, it all depends i guess.

btw this are for restricted firearms.

Business transfer times seem to be up at them moment, spring rush I am figuring. That being said 26 restricted transfers were approved today from Ontario, most about a week, and a few from BC and Alberta.

On another note, it's your provinces CFO that does the approval not, in my case the Ontario CFO.

The transfer times depends on where the buyer is from. If i bought from Ontario, which i have the transfer was done in a few days. Im from Alberta. If the buyer was from Ontario buying from me, it would take alot longer.

If all gun owners banded together to create one org with one voice, we may move mountains. The bloc is a perfect example, they have no right to even be at the debate, he doesnt want to run canada he is just out for quebec, but yet he has a huge voice. We need a big voice like that.

Ops wrong thread.

My first restricted took 24 hours a few weeks ago.

I did get a little bored and go into the CFO's office in person to bug them.. got it all approved while I was stood waiting, by the time I got to the store they had all the paperwork ready to go, went in and left with the gun.

Non restricted stuff has been instant so far.

the ruger is on its way to me, in winnipeg from ontario in 1 day..

still no word from sfrc bout the sig.. kinda disappointing as i have received the buyers copy in the mail before a tracking #

My first restricted took 3 days (ontrio), ordered my handgun on wednesday, called rcmp on thursday and they said it was sent to ontario cfo, called the cfo office as soon as I got off the phone with rcmp and they said they will review it, got a phone call from the dealer yesterday(saturday) and they told me its ready for pick up.

As we told you we have to check on Monday that it has been approved. Your CFO never faxed/emailed us the approval notice and I can't just take someones word that an approval is complete.
