Hey guys
I'm working on another formulation in my Zastava M70 in 8X57 JS.
I manage to get a few bags of 175gr Privi PSP-BT from Tradex about a year ago and I'm actually getting around to loading a few combinations up now.

I must admit that I was a little suprised to find that all of these projectiles are .322" diameter.

The last series of loads I ran with IMR-4895 48 to 50 gr in 0.5 gr increments.
The results were not terribly impressive and I averaged about 2.5" three round groupings across the board with one exception coming in a 1.5".

The noodle might be playing tricks on me but I don't recall the barrel heating up much either.

I've got another formulation made up now using one of Water's favourite powders IMR-4064.
45.5 to 48.0 gr (again in 0.5gr increments)
Waters maintains that this weight of bullets and 47.0gr is the most accurate load he's seen (2465 fps). I'd sure like to punch this bullet up to at least 2600 fps but I think I'll take baby steps here.

I've had to crimp all of these bullets because the bullets is a titch loose inside the necks and I don't want OAL to be skewed by recoil. To be honest I'm not terribly impressed at this stage of the game.

Anyone else tried these bullets yet?
Privi Partisan ammunition generally has descent reviews.

From the Privi partisan Website

Pointed Soft Point Boat Tail (PSP BT) bullets have specially shaped back part of a reduced diameter, which lowers the air drag. The better ballistic coefficient of these bullets, primary PSP BT bullet, provides successful firing at longer distances, at which the bullet keeps higher striking energy with reduced drift and flatter trajectory.

I assume that they measure 0.323" ahead of the crimp groove. As for the loose grip on the bullet, I suggest that you find a way to size the neck enough to grip them without crimping - either remove the decapping rod, or reduce its size. It might be that this bullet won't shoot well in your gun - that doesn't mean it's a bad bullet.
