I think he means out of a REAL gun at REAL velocities...
Out of my Remington 799, x39mm Prvi was clocked in excess of 2400fps. Federals were 2250fps (even though they claim 2365fps). 125gns at 2400fps has plenty of energy to knock down a deer at over 250yds. And the accuracy to do it. I shot a doe this year at 175 yds, through and through double lung. She just stood there waiting to die (about 3 minutes, seemed like she was too shocked to move and leave her fawn) even though I could see a large bloodstain on her side and when she turned around, I could then see the one on the far side was huge (I could see that one without binos). When skinning, the wound track was quite large (3 fingers exit). This works.
And works as good as the .30-30 most of you guys use up there.
