A friendly bird told me that an un-named "major Canadian gun manufacturer" may be coming to the Nationals and may be bringing 1 or 2 high end guns for the prize table.

Oh yeah, and if they come, there will be guns available to demo.

Did I mention it is a "major Canadian gun manufacturer"...

Since when is there a major Canadian gun manufacturer that makes high end guns?:p (Just poking at George...BTW :D)

That's great to hear!

We're a Divisional Sponsor for Open and Standard and yes, like last year, we'll be contributing guns for the prize table. (and CR speed Rigs and a C-More Sight)

excellent....countdown has begun:dancingbanana:

I'd like to see us get away from the prize table altogether, or at least make it less of a focus. Let's concentrate on the shooting, organizing and the stages instead of diverting some of the man power into finding sponsors to donate prizes. Maybe we can keep our match fees reasonable and spring for some dedicated, quality RO's instead.

exactly

My sentiments exactly. I hear Walter is going to break with "Canadian Nationals Tradition". It's about time. Thanks Walter.

I think the point is that at a national level match, we should have real range staff, not competitors running the stages. I see no problem with shooters helping but the CRO, RO and score keepers should be full time (dedicated) to that stage. Rather than run it like a club match.

That's exactly what I meant; sorry for the ambiguity in the word "dedicated".

and that is excatly what is happening this year at nationals. for three days we are having dedicated CRO's and RO's!

I know, but these officials are doing it (as far as I know) without any kind of renumeration or support. I think that they deserve a little something extra. Maybe it might also entice some other quality officials that might have otherwise not attended to come out and work the match instead.

Some people equate Quality with cost
Sometimes cost and Quality don't go hand in hand
