Anyone know the name of that chap back east that makes
those frick'in nice leather slings and butt stock wraps?
I wish to have one made up for this pretty BLR 81 so I
don't need to drill and blast the furniture.
Just curious if this will mark up the wood or not?
Thanks all.

I thought those BLR things had some kind of magazine you put the shells in?
A long time ago after I had a successful day trip, like a dead moose, I realized I had taken seven cartridges with me. Presto, that must be a good omen, so ever after I carried seven cartridges for my rifle with me on a day hunt. I put five in the magazine and one in each of the two front pockets on my pants. Two or more shells in a pocket will make a noise when walking that a moose can hear for two hundred yards.
Never even came close to using either of the two spares, but being a cautious type, always liked to have some spares with me!

I was more into the carrying aspect of the sling.
May just give this pretty gal to the hounds for the afternoon and
git some teeth marks on it.
Wear the new off of it so to speak.
Then it shouldn't be any issue of hanging some swivels on her.
I know, cabin fever sett'in in.
Careful there H, that Bella Bumbeena don't git her culo spanked...:D

Looky... Cabelas has them... I use one on my BLR and it didn't leave any marks....

The nicest ones are the black powder slip on slings (that will fit your BLR)

Thanks Brad.
There is a chap, I believe in Quebec that does a superb job on them.
Will custom make/fit the chambering loops as well.
My youngest daughter is doing this leather thing and one
for her to get her chomps into too.
I have seen his work on rifles posted here and worth the kerch$ing.
Here Luey, here Duey, here Huey.........dang where art thou......?

Speaking of claw (teeth marks) on riles, I have a friend who has been in this world longer than I have (honest) who's dad had this happen.
The dad shot a grizzly bear with a 95 Winchester 30 US. He walked up to the bear stretched out on the ground. Just to be sure it was dead, he gave it a push with the butt of the rifle. The "Dead" bear, quick as lightning grabbed the rifle in his teeth and bit a piece out of the butt stock! The rifle is still around, apparently, but ended up with a son in law, who has no interest in it, but lives 300 miles away. I've been trying to buy the rifle, but so far haven't made connection with the owner.

To Brad, 358win, not mint but real close to it.

To H4831, that would be a good score.

My Pa always told me when I asked the question, "how do you know it's dead?"
His reply......."if the tongue is hanging out, it's dead."
If I can't see the tongue, I look real close at the eyes.
They aren't clear, sort of hazy.
I watch the rib cage as well.
I caught a fish years ago, bonked the head, fished some more.
Went to shore, cleaned the fish, put the dang thing in the frying pan
and it just about flipped out of the hot oil.
Now I cut the dang heads and tails off.

PM bellero. If its the same setup as in the Sako thread right now, he's got one. Looks awful nice.

I don't know who's the leather craftman that makes them in Quebec? I bought my buttstock cartrige holder from a guy named Wes Daems in Montana. He's running a leather craft business and will ship to Canada.
