Problem priming Federal cases.

I started loading for my .223 yesterday.

I am loading Winchester and Federal AE cases.

The primer sits with no issues in the Winchester case but when I try to sit them in the Federal cases about 70% of them do not want to sit.

Anyone else having this issue?

No.

Here is a factory loaded case (the same as I am loading)

Federal cases are crap. Too bad you have 500of them and not the Win.

I've seen the flash hole way of centre on quite a few Feds and even once I saw 2 holes that made the primer pocket look like it had a 8 in it!
 
strange-i have no problem with FC cases but Win cases have to be sorted every time becouse of mainly lose primer pockets and/or micro cracks on shoulder-neck joint.

btw-cases you have DO HAVE crimped pockets.look closely
 
Federal work ok but the primer pockets get loose fast. There are a couple of cases, 1 like shown seems to have a red ring. Those are very tight for priming, the others work fine. I reload federal stuff only once.

Yes, the ones I have have the red ring around the edge of the pocket.

I will try cleaning them but most are prettey clean anyways. Some do have the hole way off centre (I bent a pin decapping one the other day)
