After installing a Magpul BAD lever, the bolt was not retained after shootng the last round. I did notice that my bolt catch wiggles a bit (even before installing the BAD lever), but has always worked correctly before. After taking off the BAD, the bolt catch was functioning again (retain bolt after last round). Used both LAR 10rd and a standard 30/5 for this test. My lower is a normal Bushmaster. Anybody else had this issue with a BAD lever ?

I had the same problem when originally installed.

What i did was weld the side of the bolt catch to increase the surface thickness on the right side of the bolt catch. Increased the thickness from the original .150 to .155 and have no wiggle anymore and works fine. It places the tooth of the bolt catch closer into the magazine follower.

I've seen that happen with the Tactical Link version of the BAD on an HK MR223.

Check to see if the lever is coming into contact with the receiver anywhere.

Same problem here on a Bushmaster lower, I haven't spent any time diagnosing it yet. It doesn't happen every time.

So a 0.005 shim might work for those of us who do not have "finess" with welding yet?

Could it be the added weight of the unit on the bolt release that is affecting operation? If it is not contacting the receiver, that might be the cause.
I've considered one, but use the DPMS double paddle unit on my rifle. Makes it easier to lock the bolt open.
