Hi all,

I recently purchased a bushnell holosight off of the EE from a member here on cgn. I researched and saw many positive reviews on these sights and liked the fact they were made in the us by L3.

When it arrived, I noticed the retcle was quite blurry at any other position other than in the dead Centre of the window. I bought a fresh set of n batteries and installed them with no luck. The reticle is still fuzzy at both the top, bottom, and sides of the window. After doing some more research, it looks as though the holographic crystal layer is delaminating inside the unit. It looks similar to shattered glass around the edges of the windows.

Is there any way to get this repaired under warranty from bushnell? I believe it was only a 1yr warranty and is likely expired as these units are discontinued. Is it a big issue if it's mounted on an ar15? The image is crisp in the dead Centre of the windows so if the cheek weld and sight picture are good it could still work well. It does, however, somewhat defeat the purpose of a parallax free sight. This gun is gonna be used for 3gun and service rifle comps this season.

Thoughts? Time to fork out for an xps3-0?

Is there any chance you have an eye condition known as astigmatism? I have this condition and this is what I see when I look through holographic optics. These units have not been made for several years as Eotech (L3) could not keep up with the military/LEO market so they dropped their agreement with Bushnell. I doubt there is any warranty on your unit as Bushnell only warranties their electronic optics for a year or two. Phil.

Another member here sent his holosight for repair a year back of i recall corectly but he had to pay for it, call bushnell canada see what they say.

Mines been in for repair for a year ... Still waiting for it back. Love the sight and only had a problem with Elevation not tracking due to a friend overworking the range.

Thanks for the input guys. Ill give the warranty centre a shout to see what they say. I definitely don't have astigmatism as I had my eyes tested recently. I can get the reticle to be crisp and clear but only through the center portion of the reticle. Ill give it a shot at the range this weekend to see if its functionally useable.

Mine works fine, but the reticule is not even close to being bright enough on a sunny day. It is almost non exisitant, I have to look very hard to see it. Its fine if it is cloudy or dark out. Saving for a true Aimpoint instead.
