Hi all,
I got one of the enfield no1 mark2 revolvers from tradex in the combo and I've had problems with timing.
I sent the first one back (I paid shipping) to exchange for another because the timing was off and gun was more rust than steel. Got the second which is in better shape, but the timing is still off! Not too impressed...
Anybody have any suggestions for repairing? Anybody else have the same problem? I encourage you to check before you blow up your gun.

Well just off the bat when you #### the hammer you have to rotate the cylinder quite a bit by hand to get it to lock. It's like this on all cylinders. Unless enfields are different and like to discharge the bullets into the frame instead of the barrel it is not right. Is there anything that could be missing to cause this? I looked at the internals and it looks good except the hand doesn't look like it's pushing enough. There is not too much use so this is strange. I have dealt a bit with colts so this is nothing new.

Sent it back and say try again!

I've ordered from TEC a few times now and have had no issues. Rather pleased actually.

"just sent it back, Anthony is a great guy to deal with..."

Yup, in my experience Anthony will make it right.

I did send it back once and I got another dud after I specifically requested that the timing be checked. I'm already out shipping once, a second time for refund just doesn't seem worth it. He told me the problems are why they are graded fair to good..... I'm really dissapointed in my dealings with them. Mechanical problems should be disclosed before sale.

Well, a pistol with a "fair to good" rating could very easily have mechanical problems, especially on the fair side.

It's all over but the cryin..what did you pay for this junk? I don't understand why anybody this side of a milsurp collector would even take a second look at that crap, and even the collector is looking for the best representation his money can buy.

What's that, you have a bin of old Webley/Enfields at fair to good condition for sale!? Interesting...go F%#K yourself! :p

Well thank you for telling me what I should and should not buy. I got the gun in the 5 pack deal and it was advertised as having some surface rust which I thought would account for the fair to good part. My post was going to be about finding a way to repair the revolver and not a cryin session as you so graciously put it. So if you have nothing useful to say just move along.
Obviously there is no way a sight sponsor can do no wrong so it must be all me...

You might try blowing out what you can with an air compressor, giving it a soak and swish in a bucket of diesel, and another go with the air compressor. You don't know how the revolver has been stored, so there could be lots of crud/sand/dust/gunk coating the internals.

I cleaned the internals and they look good. Looks to operate properly. Cylinder will lock if you slam the hammer back about 70% of the time. This is still not how the timing should be unless the British do it different. It should lock regardless of how fast the hammer is cocked.

I just ate the shipping on the zastava that I received in my tec5 pack that looked like someone took a grinder to the slide (pistol was "brand new in box").
I won't be dealing with them again.

I thought my position that these revolvers are junk would be most useful to you? If you're looking for an opinion/ recommendation on how to repair your junk, you're right, I guess I can't help you polish your turd...aside from send it back and get another turd (at your expense). Carry on, fill your boots.V:I:
