Problem with my Henry mares leg 44 (Brass receiver, same build as the henry big boy)

Failure to feed some rounds, I can say what doesnt work, but easer to say that American eagle and winchester 240 HP's always load into the chamber without problem, but anything else I have tried gets jammed when the lifter is pointing the next round up, it seems to be the bullet, or casing that is getting caught at the top of the receiver just before entering the chamber.

Has anyone else ever encountered this with their lever action?

In between American eagle 240 hp (Only one that works) Fiocchi 240 sjsp and Hornady leverevolution 44 mag 225 gr

they are all pretty much the same within a hundredth of a mm,

same brass length/diameter, same oal, a tenth of a difference in the bullet size, which would change the crimping, but a .1 mm? I cant see this "Legendary" Lever action being THAT picky.

Edit, sorry, jammed while lifting(As in using the lever) the next round into the chamber, its a forward tube feed type deal, cant really jam while loading.

Blunt nosed bullets do not feed well in my Uberti Henry 44-40. I need RNFP's. If OAL is correct, then it may be a matter of the bullet ogive.

Its what I figured from the very beginning , but the whinchester and american eagles projectile is pretty much the middle ground on bluntness, fiocchi being slightly bigger, and hornday stuff being small, much smaller.

Are the bullets that jam up semi-wadcutter? Maybe the edge of the bullet is getting hung up? Also, are any screws like the elevator screw, loose? On my Marlin 94, when the screws get loose the lifter gets finicky.

My 1892 Winchester refused to chamber Sellier and Bellot 240 gr factory ammo for some reason. Once my neighbour put a crimp on the case, fed like candy. Sometimes they're just picky.

Yeah it's what I figured. Good thing my Raging Bull will eat anything the mare's leg or rossi 1892 wont :D
