Try Casey at TacOrd. He's also a member here (ArwenAce). Second to none.

Well, first off, you shouldn't do that with a 1911. That said, does the hammer follow with the grip safety released (ie the grip safety should be working blocking the trigger). If it (the hammer) doesn't follow with the grip safety blocking, the problem is likely to be trigger bounce (the inertia of the trigger is tripping the sear) if not, it's possible that there isn't enough engagement in the hammer hooks (which can be caused by wear induced by dropping the slide on an empty chamber). If it's the latter you need a new hammer, but have it checked by a good 'smith. Oh yeah, this can happen to ANY 1911 and has nothing what so ever to do with the ethnicity of the 1911. Another reputable 'smith out in the darkness of Bantario is Roger at Dark Int'l.

ETA: So all of you guys playing Steven Seagal in the bedroom QUIT DROPPING THE SLIDE ON EMPTY.
Further edited to add: if you want a gun to play action hero with buy a Glock. The 1911 prefers to be loaded and shot, not played with.

Call me old school but if your gun can't be cycled dry without breaking something, its a POS. Sorry NAA I have to say it. Yet another Norinco problem thread, what a surprise

No worries, TDC.... don't buy any Norc 1911's... that'll leave more for the rest of us.... ;) :D

'Course my "go to" would still be a Glock 22 .40 cal.

The Norcs are for fun, plinking...... and posing..... :p

Can you push the hammer forward when it's fully cocked? If so, you have bad sear engagement.

Otherwise, the sear spring probably doesn't have enough tension, causing the sear to bounce out of the hammer hooks when the slide slams home. Bending the spring to give it more arch will increase the trigger pull weight, but will make it safe. The tricky part is balancing pull weight and safety.

Any hammer-fired auto pistol should should not have the slide dropped on an empty chamber, other than to test for hammer follow. It might not make as much difference with stock guns, but it will eventually mess up a trigger job due to hammer/sear wear. Letting the slide slam forward is poor form, anyway.
