problem with remington ML

i own a remington ML bolt action and it seen its wear and tear over the years but has been a great gun , but i use to shoot beer cans at 200 yards with it ... now at a 100 yrds u lucky if u can get 2 shots inside a 45 gallon drum.

i clean it right out let it soak made sure there no plastic in it ( there is some pitting in it ,)
i was shooting triple 7 and pyrodex and it had major delays , some time shot good next like sec delay ... kinda lost on it any help be great thanks ..

i have install a 209 primer kit but that was a few years ago and has work good since that ,,,
 
How old is your powder? If it was me, I would scrub the snot out of it with WD40 and a brass brush, to make sure it has nothing in the bore. Then get some new loose powder and go to the range. If that bullet/sabot combo isn't working try others. Don't give up, something has/needs changed in the load combination.
 
Have you always used a muzzel protector when loading ? if not a little wear at the muzzel could cause this
 
It could be that the nipple for the 209 primer needs to be replaced. They are tough to find and likely would need to be ordered from Rem. I would try it with a musket cap and nipple. If the problem remains then you know it isn't likely the primer nipple. Are you using loose powder or pellets and how old is it. Also make sure you use a high pressure sabot.
