One of my favourite profs loved bird-watch but the red squirrels were always raiding the feeder. He tried rigging the feeder in so many different ways but the red squirrels always found a solution. To kill some time one day, he rigged the feeder on a rope and dangled it over an open area between the trees in his yard. The only way the squrrels could get to it was to jump on the feeder from a nearby branch. He killed a couple of hours watching the squirrels jump onto the feeder while he would yank on the rope Those little buggers are tenacious!

Great footage My Prof wouldn't waste good vodka on vermin - two- or four-legged. He was a science/biology prof so fermentation would be right up his alley
