I tried to order a Nikon Prostaff spotting scope from Cabelas US but they sent me an email saying they could not ship these to any foreign country.

Any ideas what the problem would be with shipping these across the border? I thought it was just gun scopes and stuff with "tactical" in the name that was a problem.

you write them right back and tell them we AINT FURRIN- we speak the same language they do-

I would - and will in the future- but I got an Amex gift card that will only work at some retailers. Cabelas and Amazon are on the list so that's why I was going with them.

You'll save more on a demo product from Camera land than you would using your gift card at Cabelas/SIR.

Save the gift card for other stuff that you'll need.

Not at Cabelas. Their "restrictions" far exceed what the law requires and are sometimes. I was interested in ordering a soft-sided gun case but was told it was "restricted." They however had no restrictions on a camo version of exactly the same case.
