Problems using non jacketed bullets in 9mm?

Depending on your pistol and the hardness of your bullets barrel leading can be a problem. The worst 9mm I ever had for barrel leading was a Sig P226 which I got rid of. One thing to try which works for me is to shoot heavier cast bullets like 147 gr, they can be loaded to a slower velocity and still reliably function the pistol. If you are buying cast bullets the heavier bullets for 38 Super are also a good choice.
 
I wanted to use it in a non res Beretta CX4 storm for gopher hunting as well as my glock 17. But looks like I won't be using them in my glock for sure. I hope I can use them in the CX4 cause FMJs just don't make a big enough mess of gophers. :)
 
I shoot 124gr cast lead bullets in my Norinco CZ-75 clone.

At end of shooting, I shoot a couple of copper jacketed RN which cleans out the rifling on the barrel. Makes cleaning much easier as it removes the lead built up.
 
"...cast lead bullet loaded..." Don't ever use anybody else's reloads unless they're loaded by a licenced company. Assuming that's what you've found.
I've been using nothing but my reloaded 121 grain TC cast bullets out of my Inglis BHP for eons. No fuss. No bother.
 
Cast lead bullets hard enough to work well in the 9mm won't expand any better than a fmj on gophers. may get berrer effect if you can find a cast 9mm with a flat nose--but may cause feeding issues.
