Problems with my Benelli

Hello everyone. I took my Benelli M2 out of the lockup today to do some shooting with it later this afternoon. When I opened the action to verify that it was unloaded I tried to hit the bolt catch to close the bolt upon seeing an empty chamber and the button wouldn't budge therefore not allowing the bolt to close. The little button below the breech that releases the bolt is stuck and does not push when pressed. I've been cleaning this shotgun as per recommended practice and it's only seen about 500 rounds, mostly light trap loads.
I bought this shotgun from P & D 3 years ago and this is the first lick of trouble I've had. I'm tempted to phone Benelli's service line but the only number I have is the American one.
Can anyone help? Is this some simple thing that can be fixed in minutes? Or do I have a defective high-end shotgun?

Its fine, you reinstall the trigger mech wrong or something

try this

press the bolt catch up, hold it there and then push the bolt release

Or

Remove the trigger mech and reinstall while holding the bolt catch

Ok, never mind. it was something very simple and stupid. Upon disassembling the shotgun the magazine tube plastic plug was somehow holding the button. Very simple fix for a very unusual problem. Hopefully this is just one of those freak random things. It is a very good shotgun well worth the $$$.

how does the comfort tech stock work for you , is your m2 with a 28 inch barrel ?

My M2 is the tactical model with the 18.5" barrel and standard pistol grip stock. No comfort tech. Even still, she shoots 3" magnums with minimal felt recoil, especially compared to my pump (ouch). I can shoot heavy loads all day and not worry about a bruised shoulder.
