Problems with my new NEA 15

I just picked up my brand new NEA 15 10.5" last week. I took it downrange yesterday and after not even 200 rounds the gas key on the bolt carrier had come so loose that it almost came right off causing numerous failure to ejects. Also my trigger feels like it was set to 10-13lbs.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems.:confused:
 
The triggers are real heavy on all of them. You're not the first to notice that. The gas key however...:confused:

Was yours not staked? It should be, and therefore should be covered under warranty if not. Just give Dave a shout.
 
I had one of the first ones available to the public. Mine had a gas issue, and wouldn't cycle. NEA quickly sent me a new upper and pre-paid shipping form for the old one. They also sent me a new hybrid brake/flash supressor and an extended charging handle. I too was not crazy about the trigger weight, so I ordered a couple different sets from Brownells. The 3.5# reduced power springs made all the difference in the world. There's still quite a bit of pre-travel, but it breaks nice, with good weight. I ran about 160 rounds through it yesterday, and it ran perfectly! :D

I cleaned it up good the night before and generously applied some Slip 2000. I was pretty impressed with that lube too. I hadn't ever used it before. Nice stuff.
 
PM sent, gas key definitely shouldnt be having an issue. We'll get you sorted out ASAP.

The triggers should break in at 9-12lbs as per spec.

From his serial number the bolt carrier installed was not one of the ones we usually use, it was from another N. American major OEM that we purchased to help pick up the slack in meeting orders. As such they likely didnt warrant the QC we follow on our own. Our mistake regardless, and ours to fix.

Yup, I think most people will be understanding about the odd issue here and there, it happens, especially with a newer operation. Looking after your customers now, will only insure they look after you down the road. I look forward to seeing how your AR will evolve as NEA grows...
 
Even if I didn't know anything about the NEA 15's, I would buy one just because of the level of customer service you guys have. I have never heard of a company that stands behind their product as well as you guys. First AR WILL be a NEA, it's only made better by the fact it's Canadian too.
