the small wrench provided by beretta to use with their extended optima chokes does not seem to grip and twist the choke...has anyone encountered this and found a solution..i really would hate to use pliers on the chokes...

thanks you

I've found that finger tightening the Optima chokes on my 391 sometimes isn't enough and the tubes will back out of the barrel. The little wrench supplied by Beretta is meant to snug the tubes in just a touch but it's not a very convenient system. I find the Carlson wrench combined with some Briley grease on the threads seats them in tighter, keeps them in place and makes if a lot easier to remove the chokes when they need changing.

Thanks Claybuster as I was having the same problem with finger tight backing off and the Beretta wrench being just about useless. I'll track down a Carlson's.

claybuster,

do you know if there is any place in gta to get this wrench or does it have to be ordered from carlsons directly.

Can't help you there. I got mine in the U.S. I'd try Gagnon's first and then maybe Precision Arms but you'll likely have to order it from the U.S.

A pair of kids plastic pliers should do the trick. And they are cheap! Yellow would look good in the shooting bag.
