Problems with Re-loads with a 22-250

Last year I bought a Rossi single shot break barrel 22-250. I put 100 rounds through it last year to break it in.
Using Federal 55 gr. ammo, no problems. So I decided to re-load my own, I did but out today the first thing, the gun would not #### and couldn't open the breech. I could get it to fire however a waste of time.
I brought the rifle home cleaned it and I have a dud shell and an original shell,
the dud worked bad but the commercial worked ok.
Sorry to be long winded but any help is appreciated.

And still don't know what the question is or if it is firing factory loads fine but not the reloads. ???????
Is your reload COAL the same as factory length?? (Case overall Length)
 
Did you full length resize the cases? break action firearms often have a bit of "spring" in the action when fired--allows the shoulder of the case to move forward when fired--if you don't bump the shoulder back a touch and if the bullet is jambing into the lands both can prevent the action from fully locking up--and this will result in misfires and often poor accuracy if it does go off. We had this problem with the TC contenders when we used them for metallic silhouett shooting.

You are correct. I had not re-sized properly. I took some I had left, re-sized and it works great again. :D
