Problems with the Ontario online licensing system

Ok, Just in case there are a few other old farts like me, or maybe just some dummies out there, I thought I'd relay what I just found out.

When I went through the system, bought my license, and printed a reciept, but I didn't see a place to apply for the antlerless draw. So I emailed and asked. Apparently, you have to "purchase the draw" for $0.00. It's on the web page like that, I just didn't clue in.

Then, today I checked back in just for s**ts and giggles, to see wtf was up. I see that the option to purchase said antlerless tag is still available for me.. WTF?

So I go through the whole process again, and this time, when I go back and check, the option is gone. I also printed a receipt for zero dollars to prove I spent zero dollars on my tag.



Check back, make sure you actually purchased that license, don't let the damned system screw up your hunt.

It doesn't get any better when you go buy tags at a retailer
Their printer kept jammin when my turkey one was coming out
They kept hitting re-print untill the system told them "maximum ammount of re-prints have been reached"
Eventually one came out

1 - Select ONTARIO if you live in Ontario
2 - Select Deer license and click Add license & Continue shopping
3 - You will now see Antlerless deer draw in the menu
4 - Select Anlerless deer draw and click on Add lecense & Continue shopping OR Add license & Checkout

Its a new system, so there may be a few bugs and some problems are just that people and businesses are not used to it yet.

The option to enter the Antlerless deer draw only becomes available to be purchased after it has been placed in your cart. That is why you have to select add license & continue shopping.

Also, if you complete your deer license purchase without entering the antlerless draw the system still makes the antlerless draw available to you on the purchase menu because your deer license purchase is now in your file.

When you went back, the system still allowed you to enter the antlerless draw because you had not used up that option. The fee is $0.00 beacause you are only entering the antlerless draw. You still have your one deer limit as per the license you paid for.

Once you have used up the antlerless deer draw option (or the draw deadline has passed) the system removes it from your purchase menu.

Too much BS on the website, just pick up the phone and its done in a few pushes, i entered the antlerless draw in less than 5 minutes.
