the more you deviate from shooting perfectly horizontal over the chrony the less velocity it'll register
 
Also have the CED M2 and have been more than happy with it.

Some of the pluses are the remote display, the fact that it can calculate ES and SD right there and you can download your results to your PC.

I have the PACT original model. You can set it to multiple screen spacings howver I use 2 feet as that is the length of the mounting bar. Calculates SD, ES and mean absolute deviation. You may shoot a screen but not the unit as it's on the bench .Has an infrared printer capability which i don't use. Had mine since the mid-80's and had no beef with it. I recently sent it back to PACT as it suddenly started missing rounds. I suspect 25 year old screen issues but am waiting for their prognosis. It is supposed to be under warranty.
 
I bought the CED a few months back and love it. Considering I was using the chrony before, anything is a huge upgrade. It is very user friendly and you have all the options at your finger tips while you are shooting.
I haven't used the others so I can't comment on which is better.
