i will start shooting with an HK USP in Production, at the ready position could i have in my holster, the hummer loded in the back position, with the safety on...!


and if yes, can we do the same in Standard!

No in Production...first shot must be double action

Quigly has it right. for production the rule is appendix D4 point 17 second sentence

I use a USP in Production. Hammer decocked for first shot (you've put a mag in after the "load and make ready", command, racked it, and then decock it. Then remove mag and replace with a fresh mag , or top off that one. then seat a mag that has 10rd's in it, into the pistol.
Make sure the hammer strut is lubricated, which is where friction comes from for the DA shot. Polishing the hammer strut and sides of the hammer does not hurt.

It is permissable to fire a SA first shot in Production with a TDA pistol if starting the stage with the gun unloaded and on a table.

I wonder what's gonna be the best for the USP .40

I use 147gr factory ammo, less muzzle flip. I assume that a heavier load for .40 would be ok. Wolf makes some .40 reloads. I might start using 9mm wolf again, as i heard he switched to a better projectile.

In my experience, factory loadings have less recoil the lighter the bullet, with the 147s being quite snappy indeed.

It's only with certain recipes that heaver bullet = less recoil.

I agree...I was using Factory Winchester in a Glock 17...the 124's were softer than the 147's

Try some 115s. That's the least recoil of all, though it is still significantly more recoil than handloaded 147s. I load a 124 over 3.8 grains of titegroup at an OAL of 1.150, and it makes a pf of 129, every time. It also feels like a cap gun, recoil wise.

Tritium on the board, here, uses a recipe with 147s that feels like it can't possily make pf... but it does
