I have heard good things about the warranty for the Hornady.

I can tell you from experience that Dillon stands behind their product. I lost a product for my 550 when I took it apart for cleaning. I called them to ask for a new one with my credit card in hand (as it was my fault), and they shipped me the item for free.

It was a tough choice for me in '89 for the money as well, but I'm happy I went with a Dillon 550 for IPSC back then - lasted through the Service Rifle years and is still doing great in fullbore F-Class today.

Go with Dillon -))
550 is easy to operate, adjust and change calibers. 650 gives you more performance, but sometimes may be harder to adjust as this is more complicated machine. As you already have single stage press you probably should have no issues to handle 650.

With 550 you supposed to get performance ~400 rd/hour, so decision probably should be based on volume that you need vs versatility.

Hornady all the way. The lock and load bushing system is the Cats ass. You can change calibers in 5 minutes.

What is the warranty like on the hornady? Lifetime no hassle transferable like the dillon? Seems like a good option if so.

As far as I know, yes. I have never had a problem with them. They make great tools & stand behind them. They also give away FREE BULLETS! Dillon doesn't do that.
