so by the lack of a response, I'm assuming P239's are simply too new to have been imported into canada prior to 1998 or whatever the date was?
I want one.

I think Questar has brought in some rebarreled short pistols recently like compact Glocks with a 5" bbl...ask them.
 
I've seen a prohib P239 in 9mm for sale in the Access a few years ago, there is probably a few that came in Canada before February 1995.
