Prohib rifles on fun post

You are tying ratings to a behavior, like ratings mean somthing and zero rating members are somehow shady.
Not at all - that was a only a observed commonality between them, but I can understand why that could be the implication by anyone reading the post. So I will concede your point.

That said, I have dealt with many, many 0 feedback buyers and sellers without issues, both on GP and here. The last six rifles I sold on GP, I sold to zero feedback members (at the time), and all were super smooth.

I think perhaps one of the big differences that make CGN a smooth place to do business (at least for me) is that there is the community aspect of discussions, etc. I sold a rifle to a fella on her last year, who read a lot of my posts, and felt comfortable with dealing with me through that aspect alone. I think "knowing" how a member conducts themselves through discussions and shows their competency with technical knowledge (or in my case, lack thereof) paints a much more complete picture than a member on GP who you can't gauge what their personality is like.

That said, I can wax eloquently about all sorts of topics and still be a scumbag (it's a rhetoric statement - no response necessary...haha)...so nowadays, you really can't tell, with any online presence. It is easy to fool people through the anonymity of the internet.

Yikes... not even gonna get into some of the thoughts and comments on here.

Will just say Ive had some pretty great experiences buying and selling on there and townP.
Yes lots of idiots and time wasters/ price gougers but no different than here.
Overall met some pretty solid local guys in the area even If no sale was made.

I think like anything were gonna hear the absolute worst stories over the good ones.
My experiences so far have been 8/10

Not exactly sure which forum this would belong in so im tossing it in here. Anybody else seeing an influx of recently prohibited rifles come up on the other site? I think it all must be RCMP trying to get people. I saw a GSG for sale in BC, as soon as the account was made the rifle was posted for sale. In the same postal code there’s an RCMP detachment. Do they think we’re retarded? Anybody else seeing this stuff lately?View attachment 928738View attachment 928739
I noticed a few as well and the one fella I mentioned it too got super defensive called me names then blocked me.

GP...the land of the never ending surprises....

Had some ammo listed years ago...guy supposedly a farmer from two hours away met up with me at a Bass Pro not that close to me but I thought I'd do him a favour. It was about 7PM at night, in December, I think. Guy wanted to "check fitment" with my factory 9mm in his gun. I am like, what do you mean check fitment. He wanted to make sure he can chamber a round. I said, if your gun is a 9mm, it will work. He said can he try chambering it in the parking lot - he has the gun in the car. I said absolutely not - are you nuts?

I asked what gun he had. He said it was a Cz Evo 3 Skorpion. I said that has been banned since 2020. He just looked at me and said he shoots it all the time at his club. I asked what club, since the CFO can shut it down if ever they show up and see now-prohibs being shot at a CFO-approved range. He declined to name his club and it was at that point I wondered if something was up. I should have checked his PAL then and there, but I have gone through many transactions on here and on GP and checked the PAL at the tail end usually right before we do the deal (which is typically preceded by chit chat). I asked him when he got his Evo 2 Skorpion and he said 6 weeks ago. Huh? Again I reminded him it was banned - no way he would be able to buy it in Canada. He said he didn't - he mail ordered it from the US. I said that's not possible - in the US they send it to an FFL and you get it from there. He said well he lives in a border town so maybe they gave him an exception. I brought out my phone and showed up the OIC link on the PS site of the Canadian government showing him his gun is banned. He said, oh, a bunch of people at his (unnamed) club shoot them.

It was then that I decided to ask for his PAL. He then did this routine of patting down his bum and said to his wife "dear, did you bring my wallet?" She (looked like Ivanka Trump - the first wife), said "no, I thought you had it".

I told him I couldn't sell him the ammo, at which point he got upset and started making borderline racist remarks towards me. I told him my ad clearly said PAL required and I will check. He said he drove all this way for nothing. I said, I guess you did - sorry you had to do that but I am not going to sell ammo to someone who can't produce a PAL. I swear I was going to get mugged, or attacked right then and there, and stuffed into his cadillac SUV.

Another time...also on GP, some guy sold me a JR Carbine, and after the transaction, he said do you want to look at some other guns he had for sale (in the back of his trunk no doubt). He popped his trunk open and there was an AR in there. I pointed at it and said, "you know that's banned right?" He said, yes, but he is hoping to make a quick sale. I said, not to me you won't and suggested he be careful as I could have been a cop and he would have been busted.

One other time, and yes on GP again - and this one was wild - met another GP person and his girlfriend near the 519 area. I mention the girlfriend as that will be relevant shortly. Guy bought a bunch of 7.62x39 Barnaul off me. He gave me the money - I typically don't count it with most people, if they have a good buying/selling record - I figured that is ballsy if someone I meet was going to short change me then and there. Never had a problem except once when I sold an IBM server on Kijiji like 18 years ago. Anyways, guy was $110 or $120 short. I don't remember what. He went back to his car and then came back. Told me if I am interested, his girlfriend (who looked like a greyer haired Rosemary Barton) would "service" me in his car for 15 minutes. If you can actually believe it, I actually did not put two and two together. I said, "I don't need any help" before I stopped mid sentence, and was like "absolutely not". Even if she did not look like an overpaid CBC anchor, I would have declined.

Other than all being on GP, what did the above three people have in common? Surprise - they were 0 feedback / 0 rating members on GP.

Not surprised to see people trying to unload now-prohibited firearms on GP.

Moral of the story and mental note to self - , buy and sell on CGN (and I know I am a hypocrite for saying that since I just sold something on GP this afternoon, but the buyer was a 14 five-star buyer, so it was all good.
How in the hell would the guy expect to quickly sell a prohibited AR that was previously registered to him and not expect to get busted when the cops contact him after the amnesty ends??? I swear some people have schitt for brains....

I know...I thought the same...unless it wasn't his...I am hoping that's not the case, because then I wonder whose JR Carbine it was (this was before the reference number check thing, so he visually checked my PAL on meetup, but he didn't show me his - which most sellers don't do anyway) - I have long since sold that JR carbine anyway.

If he was selling you and ar15 from a trunk and not calling in your PAL, it was a quick sale of a stolen/illegally imported gun. Street level gun trafficking.

With the current climate, if you are not a brainwashed liberal, I find it hard to believe you’re not up to date on this stuff. It just doesn’t add up...
Not every gun-owners life revolves around CGN or even the "media" and what firearms have are or aren't banned.
Like many have witnessed, some people have no idea.
There are actually people out there that treat owning a gun like owning a boat or an ATV...
It's just another toy you have to take a course & get a license for.

* Case in point, I just found out yesterday about the Crypto being reclassified.
And only because I chose to search it by name. There was still at least 1 in the EE also...

Make no mistake, the RCMP and other agencies monitor all firearms related websites, including GP, and even this forum.

Everything people say is observed, and in some cases noted.

If you don't think they have files on forum members, think again.

Yes, it is a massive waste of taxpayers money and time, but not their time. They thrive on it, and frankly, probably enjoy it too.

Instead of solely going after real violent criminals, rapists, human traffickers, gangs, etc., they pour countless dollars into going after folks such as those on these forums. They'd love to screw us all over, and the media would love to showcase it too.
ging fruit
We live in strange times to say the least.
Low hanging fruit. Easier than actually working

I'm sure 5'4" Becky is in a huge rush to go after some 6'2" meth heads or drug dealers.
