Prohib rifles on fun post

Any one stop to think that the guy just does not know his .22!is prohibited i had to tell a guy in my area that a rifle he was out shooting with was prohibited now he #### his pants almost when i showed him the list
We had a couple at the range with something nice, it was pink, They did not know , and no one made a issue of it.

Why back in the stone age ( when things where just mildly stupid) when C68 came into effect, I had a a super nice 3 in Lou Horton 686 out of the SW custom shop in my display case at a show.
Local Police chief fell in love it and did not know that he could not buy it for himself as he was not licenced for 12-6 .
Up to the moment he likely thought all the " new gun Reg." where a great thing.
My daughter is Military and she can't have most of my guns either.

Unfortunately that is not the case.

I know people who were raided for their forum and social media posts.

Some have even shared their stories here.
sure,,i'd love to hear those stories,if they were raided it's because they were suspected of serious criminal activities,

Must have been some vile crazy posts to garner a response like that.

I can only imagine the posts must have contained threats of violence.

I'd support the police if that was the case.

What else would trigger an armed police response ?

You know "people"...as in more than one ?

Might be time to change up your circle of friends

I’ve never met a mountie who was as noble as people think they tend to be. Always there to hand you a ticket, never there to give you a hand. They’re every bit as sneaky as the criminals out there can be.

I have met both types of Mounties and the good guys way out number the zero tolerance guys...But am aware that if the lieberal or ndp commies had their way they would have a gestapo to the Nth degree if at all possible.

They’re just no good where I’m from. Back in 2020 they were too busy shooting at eachother outside of a firehall down the road from me to issue an emergency alert when all that sh1t went down. I don’t have much confidence in many of them to know what’s right and what’s wrong since then.

My local gun club had to put a list of banned guns. People keep showing up with newly prohibited rifles from PC to 22lr and a few 223 as well.

Each time they are like "wtf are you talking about I bought this last year" like the guy who showed up with a brand new unfired Raven. Finally got the time for a range trip just to be told he's a criminal lol.

Good job liberals. Canada is so much safer thanks to you.
Had a few show up at my club that I saw as well, I made them aware but never asked anyone to leave. From May 2020 up until about the December 2024 ban we had an informal "don't ask don't tell" policy but then the ON CFO (apparently) sent out a letter to all the ranges saying that if anyone was caught with prohibs at the range by a CFO inspector the range would be shut down.

If they want they can chime in.

No, as far as I understand, it was for posts related to what the police incorrectly thought was them using restricted firearms on their own property, the firearms turned out to be NR.

All because the people I know posted lots of photos and videos of their shooting endeavours.

The other was related to a raid for suspected unsafe storage, yet nothing was stored unsecured. It was only because that individual posted lots of photos of his gun racks and firearms on wall mounts.

In both cases, the police told them they came onto their radar via social media / forum posts.

So no, these people aren’t bad in any way. They also didn’t do anything unlawful.

You seriously underestimate LE incompetence in Canada.

Not exactly sure which forum this would belong in so im tossing it in here. Anybody else seeing an influx of recently prohibited rifles come up on the other site? I think it all must be RCMP trying to get people. I saw a GSG for sale in BC, as soon as the account was made the rifle was posted for sale. In the same postal code there’s an RCMP detachment. Do they think we’re retarded? Anybody else seeing this stuff lately?View attachment 928738View attachment 928739
Ever considered you are being trolled ?

Honestly, I'm surprised FunPost approves the ad's in the first place. Seems to me they are probably the most at risk in this situation, by acting as an intermediary for the transaction.

They a disclaimer in place. No one ever bothers reading the rules. Basically it’s up to the individual to make sure what they are selling in legal to sell. If you complain about an ad they will investigate and take the ad down if illegal.
Such as selling reloads. Bad practice. If something happens the seller doesn’t have a leg to stand on in court. I have seen two guns blown up by people buying and using others reloads. Illegal to sell reloads. Everytime I have reported the ad it has been taken down. I only reason I reported it is because it’s a stupid and dangerous practice. Prohibited I don’t bother with.

Oh no, I totally understand the disclaimer. Protects them from the people actually using the site. Just not sure if that absolves them from an "external" legal issue. I'm far from a lawyer in any case. But I'd think even from an "optics" standpoint they'd want to be keeping that stuff away.

Regardless, it seems that place is largely policed by its own users. I sold an ATRS Modern Sporter on there a while back (before the last two rounds of bans) and I got an amazing amount of messages telling me it was prohibited.

Entrapment is legal now?
You don't live in a free country. The off gray shirts have been permitted to do as they please for decades.

Another police apologist. You don't have to do anything to be the subject of a ges, police investigation. There is no longer the requirement for reasonable grounds or found committing. You're now guilty until proven innocent, if you can get them to let you be innocent.....

If there is one bad cop and the others don't do anything about it, they're all bad cops. The RCMP has been the gray shirt arm of the liberal party for decades. I can't say some of the words you did, cause I get bans for it, but you're on the correct idea, you just still think it couldn't possibly happen here. I bet a lot of Germans thought so too, in 1936. They were wrong too, and it was the propaganda ministry that kept them thinking they were the good guys. Guess what the Communist Brainwashing Corporation is for.....

I'm reading your mail and agree we are on an evil authoritarian slide to doom.

I don't say or think it couldn't happen here...The current government on their current trajectory certainly could get us in 1984 territory and worse.

I was just saying I have found in my dealings with authority at the spears tip for the most part are still the good guys...The lieberal appointed management of the spears tip is a whole different deal...Bad corrupt government equals bad corrupt management all around.

GP...the land of the never ending surprises....

Had some ammo listed years ago...guy supposedly a farmer from two hours away met up with me at a Bass Pro not that close to me but I thought I'd do him a favour. It was about 7PM at night, in December, I think. Guy wanted to "check fitment" with my factory 9mm in his gun. I am like, what do you mean check fitment. He wanted to make sure he can chamber a round. I said, if your gun is a 9mm, it will work. He said can he try chambering it in the parking lot - he has the gun in the car. I said absolutely not - are you nuts?

I asked what gun he had. He said it was a Cz Evo 3 Skorpion. I said that has been banned since 2020. He just looked at me and said he shoots it all the time at his club. I asked what club, since the CFO can shut it down if ever they show up and see now-prohibs being shot at a CFO-approved range. He declined to name his club and it was at that point I wondered if something was up. I should have checked his PAL then and there, but I have gone through many transactions on here and on GP and checked the PAL at the tail end usually right before we do the deal (which is typically preceded by chit chat). I asked him when he got his Evo 2 Skorpion and he said 6 weeks ago. Huh? Again I reminded him it was banned - no way he would be able to buy it in Canada. He said he didn't - he mail ordered it from the US. I said that's not possible - in the US they send it to an FFL and you get it from there. He said well he lives in a border town so maybe they gave him an exception. I brought out my phone and showed up the OIC link on the PS site of the Canadian government showing him his gun is banned. He said, oh, a bunch of people at his (unnamed) club shoot them.

It was then that I decided to ask for his PAL. He then did this routine of patting down his bum and said to his wife "dear, did you bring my wallet?" She (looked like Ivanka Trump - the first wife), said "no, I thought you had it".

I told him I couldn't sell him the ammo, at which point he got upset and started making borderline racist remarks towards me. I told him my ad clearly said PAL required and I will check. He said he drove all this way for nothing. I said, I guess you did - sorry you had to do that but I am not going to sell ammo to someone who can't produce a PAL. I swear I was going to get mugged, or attacked right then and there, and stuffed into his cadillac SUV.

Another time...also on GP, some guy sold me a JR Carbine, and after the transaction, he said do you want to look at some other guns he had for sale (in the back of his trunk no doubt). He popped his trunk open and there was an AR in there. I pointed at it and said, "you know that's banned right?" He said, yes, but he is hoping to make a quick sale. I said, not to me you won't and suggested he be careful as I could have been a cop and he would have been busted.

One other time, and yes on GP again - and this one was wild - met another GP person and his girlfriend near the 519 area. I mention the girlfriend as that will be relevant shortly. Guy bought a bunch of 7.62x39 Barnaul off me. He gave me the money - I typically don't count it with most people, if they have a good buying/selling record - I figured that is ballsy if someone I meet was going to short change me then and there. Never had a problem except once when I sold an IBM server on Kijiji like 18 years ago. Anyways, guy was $110 or $120 short. I don't remember what. He went back to his car and then came back. Told me if I am interested, his girlfriend (who looked like a greyer haired Rosemary Barton) would "service" me in his car for 15 minutes. If you can actually believe it, I actually did not put two and two together. I said, "I don't need any help" before I stopped mid sentence, and was like "absolutely not". Even if she did not look like an overpaid CBC anchor, I would have declined.

Other than all being on GP, what did the above three people have in common? Surprise - they were 0 feedback / 0 rating members on GP.

Not surprised to see people trying to unload now-prohibited firearms on GP.

Moral of the story and mental note to self - , buy and sell on CGN (and I know I am a hypocrite for saying that since I just sold something on GP this afternoon, but the buyer was a 14 five-star buyer, so it was all good.

Two sides to this one. Fed or uninformed. with the current climate if you are not a brainwashed liberal I find it hard to believe you’re not up to date on this stuff. It just doesn’t add up.. you’re either awake and know they’re coming for our guns or you’re still licking up that cbc drivel. And in both cases one should have caught this. I beleive it’s also your responsibility as a PAL holder to stay up to par.. It’s a license, it’s not like people didn’t know about distracted driving laws when they came into play… JMHO
Actually, there are some people who may not know this stuff...who don't watch TV, or engage in current culture. I actually had no idea that you could get ticketed for being on your cell phone while driving until I saw the billboard on the highway. Similarly, I did not know who Taylor Swift was until last year when I was at my parents' house watching the Superbowl since the family was there...and I had no idea any shows on TV or Netflix or Disney Plus or whatever. I agree, ignorance is no excuse, but there are a few of us out there who truly don't know.

With gun stuff, gunowners don't have an excuse. Not everyone is on CGN, but many gun owners are part of clubs or have memberships with the gun orgs, or even go into their gun store occasionally. Between chatter, emails, notifications, etc., surely people must know. But like my future brother in law who has only two hunting rifles, he has no idea there was a ban last December and another one last month - not until I told him. He is not part of a club, not on CGN, and hasn't graced a gunstore for years. He knows a couple of other hunters, but they like him are casual types. Still, knowing that we have an anti-gun government, it would behoove us to not be well informed since it may have legal implications on us.

You are tying ratings to a behavior, like ratings mean somthing and zero rating members are somehow shady.
