Here is the little .22 Short Beretta to which I owe my 12(6) grandfathered status:

The only reason I had it registered to me at the critical time it is that the friend who owned it got in a spot of legal trouble and was obliged to divest himself of it. He transferred it to me on the understanding that, in due course when he could legally own it again, it would go back to him. When the current prohibited firearms rules came into effect, I had been registered owner of it long enough to get 12(6) status ....... and he was SOL, of course .....

As a result of being grandfathered for 12(6), I have even had a few prohibited handguns simply given to me ..... including this gorgeous little .32 Spl. S&W -

Here is a Smith & Wesson Mos. 629 (.44 Mag.), 3 in. barrel, round butt, adjustable rear sight, combat hammer and trigger.

A pretty rare bird.

Love those little Beretta's with the pop-up barrels. Have had one in both .22 short & .25ACP back in the day. And also have had the M 21A, which is the slightly scaled up model in .22lr.

Classic!
