We met with NRCAN in Ottawa on this subject a few years ago and frangible was discussed.
NRCAN stated that the reason it was unable to be authorization (aka banned) is because one forensics tech for a police agency expressed concern that the use of frangible ammo in a crime would prevent standard ballistic techniques such as ballistic fingerprinting from being used.
They never were prohibitedI know of at least 4 cases where the reloading components (frangible bullets) have been imported to Canada without issue. It is not written into law that these rounds are under the prohibited list yet.
Exactly - just got word from the CFO today as well. CanAm you are right - this ammunition is not on any prohib list. Thank goodness!
