Prohibited Ammo in Canada

The Thompson/Center handguns are single shots...

Just sayin'

Yes, the Thompson/Center handguns are single shot, which is why this point has not been challenged previously.

What I am saying, is now that the LAR-15 Pistol has been deemed a "handgun" in Canada the ss109 round (which was previously not prohibited) now is Prohibited because it is now "capable of being dischaged from a commonly available semi-automatic handgun or revolver" and ss109 ammo is manufactured to be able to pierce body armour.

Hunting ammo is more then capable of pentrating body armour, however ss109 ammo is manufactured for that purpose.

Considering tok ammo can penetrate soft body armor i highly doubt anyone gives a #### if you fire 109 rounds through any AR if taken to court it could easily be thrown out .

Thank you for alerting us to shocking development. Have you also e-mailed Wendy, the local RCMP and the CFO for your area. I hope so.

The ss109 was NOT designed to penetrate body armor.
Designed for better penetration into soft tissue.

No, it was designed to penetrate armour. However at the time, the standard required of it was to penetrate a US steel helmet at 600m. Thus as far as I can determine it was designed to penetrate head and not body armour.

what about fn 5.7 x 28mm rounds...illegal? cant find them anywhere online, and i wanted to purchase a fn ps90 :S which i see on questar.ca, but NO ammo!

Yeh ive been surfing the net for the last little while, i cant even find any brands that reproduce 5.7x28mm ammunition......I read somewhere Wolf Ammo (who resells to SFRC www.theammosource.com as a retailer) was supposed to make them, but I guess they figured out like only less 20 people probably legally have this gun in canada to begin with :S
