What do I do?

I had just purchased various ammo and other stuff including an un-planned purchase of a crossbow which I needed like a hole in the head (but which looks real cool with a scope and camo painting and....:slap:).
Anyhoo, the salesman asks me if I'm in the market for a handgun. I tell him "Why yes, actually, I'm looking for a .357 Mag for the girlfriend. Thing is, I'm looking for a "dirt-cheap deal of the century" prohibited 4" barreled version, as the 6" is too heavy for her and my K-framed 2.5" is too light."
Well, his jaw drops and he looks at me like I just revealed that I'm Santa Claus. He starts to freak out and tell me that he's got a safe overflowing with prohibiteds from clients who were gonna bring 'em in for destruction after receiving letters from our favorite of police departments, the SQ. Says he picked 'em up cheap and would rather sell 'em cheap and know they won't be destroyed.

WTF. I barely have room for any more hanguns in the safe as it is, but this guy swears he's got primo Colts, S&W's, blue/SS etc.. If I go in there, I just know I'll be walking out with armloads of handguns I don't need. never mind the fact that my GF'll kill me at least twice over.

My question is, is there a support group for people in need such as myself? A place where I can go and get help with my addiction? :runaway:

:D

You have arrived, and are in safe hands. Anything you buy that you later decide you don't want, will be happily accepted by myself and other Gun Nutz who will lovingly care for your acquisitions. You can safely carry on a relationship with your betrothed, while enjoying your firearms vicariously through your new "family" here on GunNutz. We will support and encourage you as often as you think you need it from us.

Really nice prohibs are very much sought after here by the lucky few. A lot of junk is available, but minty specimens are getting scarce.
Get pics and help this guy by putting them up for sale here!

PS Clear it with ME first. I will have to get first pic!:D

If you do find a place to help you with this addiction, let me know too.

I always had a soft spot for adopting wayward prohibs, and have a few I got from people who just wanted to get rid of them. Tell your friend to post them here on the EE; I'm sure he will move them.

I'de like to help, but foolishly I did not have any prohibs when the current laws came into effect.

your making me sad :(

I even had to send a 4" revlover to the smith to have it lenghtened just so I could own it.

After you've bought everything from him you want, be sure to share with us how to get in contact with him. There are lots of us with prohibited status that would love to own more short barrel handguns.

Thanks for the show of support, boyz'n gurlz. I'm feeling all choked up from all the brotherly love I'm getting :D

He never called me to come pick up my freshly-assembled crossbow, and I was really busy at work anyways. I'll call him tomorrow am and swing by. I'll let you guys know what he's got. Way he's talking though, he's got a lot of real primo stuff. "Colts, Smiths, Rugers, I got 'em all" or words to that effect.
Tune in tomorrow;)

Here's what I do.

1) Pick through the selection choosing those that I wanted.

2) Give him the address to this website and have him apply for EE priveleges.

3) Accept the appreciation of grateful 12(6) holders. :D

As far as selling prices for 12(6) handguns go, there were 3 Smiths at the last Switzer auction. Two 4" Model 10 .38s, and a 4" Model 13 .357. They looked to be in really fine condition, late model guns. The .357 went for $160, the .38s for $125 and $75, IIRC.
