I like it when i can come to this site and see that fellow firearms owners have won victories against the bureaucracy. Yes, ChilliDawg, you absolutely need to get this in writing and challenge the decision in a reference hearing. If they get away with this they will very soon be going after everyone else with the same model or anyone that has a barrel just above the cutoff. I know you're likely frustrated with the whole process, but you are right and need to "stick to your guns." Don't let these bureaucrats make up policies and then bully you into accepting them as law.

Edit. A permanent rebarrel would be a legal option. Borrowing a barrel would not. The detached original barrel would be a prohibited device.

I have a personal preference to re-barrel instead of sleeping if possible. Just looks right in my opinion. Sleeping usually leaves a funny ridge at the extension.

Truly sorry about the verdict Chilidawg. Very frustrating, after all the time and efforts spent at keeping this shooter ligit.

I am told they are not very valuable, but I agree with you: we certainly don't see too many of them around and for that, they do generate a collectible interest. Don't let them win and do re-sleeve your MAB to restricted specs. Money well spent if you ask me.

Should you do it and ever drift towards Montreal, would be nice to hit the range & compare notes with wifey's (6.8" barrel).
