Does anyone here went through this process. This is my first time doing it and am getting different answers from the CFC.
I understand it can be done without a verifier and it’s done by sending in photos of conversion with pic of new barrel length in mm.
Does anyone have a step by step process with emails to make this easier for me. I know quite a few guys have done Lugers and am sure know what to do. Thanks guys.

Hm... I have done it a few times, but was told in no uncertain terms to not divulge the email that I sent the info to. Sorry.

So, you need to keep bugging the CFP, eventually you will stumble onto someone that knows what they are doing and will give you the email and the information you need to fill into the form.

I have the email, but what I’m not sure about is the process.
Do I need a verifier or can I just send photos with vernier caliper measurements of new barrel.
Do I also submit old barrel to local Police and get a receipt and provide that in the email?

Here's a video with some basic info, nothing about conversions by individuals though, but I believe it can be done.
Read the video description for more info.

Thanks Colin. The one I’m starting with is the Jennings J22. Pretty easy one. It takes longer to do the reclassification than it does to do the physical conversion. Go figure. Once I figure this out maybe we can talk about what one you would l8ke to add to your collection. :)

Once had a prohib. but as not a 12.6 person the RCMP demanded the take off barrel, this was many years back. Gunsmith was to install a longer restricted barrel.

There is of course the option of simply installing a longer factory origin revolver barrel. I don't know much about threads, lengths, indexing and headspacing on cylinders, but S&W sold .38 Spl revolvers with 4" and 5" barrels.

The conversion part is the easy part for me. It’s the process of doing the paperwork and procedures. If I was a verifier this would be pretty easy, and I could take it to one but that adds a lot of time with ATT,s and verifier would l8kely want a fee for this.
There is a way to do this with photos and RCMP verifies after I submit original barrel. I’m working on this process now the hard way. Just thought someone new what steps and procedures to take to simplify things.
I want to do as many as I can and save them from the Liberal smelting pot.

In my case I was given a code to use instead of a verifier number. I did not have a verifier available at that time. (See my post about converting FN1910 to use a 380 FN 1922 barrel if wondering what. I also have a Colt commander submitted but not approved yet)
I submitted the pictures with the original email and the form, but then was asked to resend once a specialist was assigned, because apparently no one forwards the attachments.
I did not submit the barrel at the time of making the application.
